About the project
We are a group of young people committed to self-development and with a vision for social development. We've noticed the problem of wet waste throughout our lives, which sparked us to research methods or innovations to address this issue. We studied the "black soldier fly" which is commonly found in nature and is a worm that can eat food (wet waste) quite efficiently. After consuming the waste, it transforms into a high-protein larva, making it suitable for feeding livestock such as chickens, ducks, and fish. Furthermore, the worm's droppings can be used as fertilizer for cultivation. We can say that the black soldier fly's life cycle is fully utilized. However, raising black soldier flies in Laos is still uncommon. Therefore, we want to disseminate and expand knowledge about black soldier flies by raising them to manage wet waste or create value from it. Thus, we have adopted this innovation and created a process to solve the wet waste problem in society, starting from agricultural areas and moving towards larger cities.
Project objective
- Reduce the amount of wet waste in the community.
- Generate income within the community.
- Raise awareness among people about wet waste management using Black Soldier Fly larvae.
- Reduce expenses for purchasing fertilizer and animal feed for livestock such as ducks, chickens, fish, etc.

The problem
We are a group of young people calling themselves the "Black Soldier Fly Team" with the aim of addressing the problem of wet waste within communities by guiding people to utilize the benefits of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae to foster sustainability.
Our solution
ທີມ BSF Initiative ເລືອກນຳໃຊ້ໜອນແມງວັນລາຍ (Black Soldier Fly – BSF) ມາໃຊ້ເພື່ອຈັດການຂີ້ເຫຍື້ອອິນຊີ ທີ່ຖືກກໍາຈັດບໍ່ຖືກວິທີຈົນເກີດເປັນບັນຫາສິ່ງເເວດລ້ອມ ວິທີນີ້ຊ່ວຍປ່ຽນຂີ້ເຫຍື້ອໃຫ້ເປັນຊີວະມວນທີ່ສາມາດນຳໄປໃຊ້ປະໂຫຍດໄດ້ ເຊັ່ນ: ແຫຼ່ງໂປຣຕີນສຳລັບສັດ ແລະ Frass ສຳລັບເຮັດປຸ໋ຍ ນອກຈາກນັ້ນ ທີມຍັງລົງພື້ນທີ່, ປະສານງານກັບບ້ານ ແລະ ພາກສ່ວນຕ່າງໆ, ຕິດຕາມການດຳເນີນງານ ແລະ ຮ່ວມປັບປຸງວິທີການໃຫ້ເໝາະສົມ.
