About the project
Our group presented a solution to the problem of stagnant water in the Dong Dam Duan village drainage ditches. Our team developed a novel innovation, unique to Dong Dam Duan, called a "waste barrier." This barrier is constructed from repurposed wood, sourced from local villagers who are basket weavers. We use this wood to create a barrier that prevents waste from clogging the ditches and causing water to stagnate. Our team's slogan is: "Block the Waste, Water Flows Freely, Clean Ditches." We sincerely hope this project will be selected for implementation in the village to address this issue.
Project objective
- Eliminate trash blockages in the canals.
- Ensure easy water flow and prevent water stagnation.
- Prevent foul odors and raise awareness among everyone about the problems caused by throwing trash into canals.
- Create a product (keychains) from the trash collected from the canals.

The problem
Residents in Dong Dam Duan village frequently face issues with foul-smelling canals clogged with trash. During rainfall, this blockage prevents proper water drainage, leading to flooding on roads, which makes driving difficult. Moreover, hazardous substances accumulate in the stagnant water. To address these problems, we've gathered volunteers who are passionate about environmental preservation to help collect trash from the canals. Our aim is to prevent water stagnation and eliminate the foul odors. Afterward, the collected trash from the canals will be cleaned and transformed into keychains.
