How this site is run, how we use the details you send us, and the rules for using it.
About this site
This website is run by XM Technovator for Project Sinxay, a youth engagement initiative delivered in partnership with the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union and UNICEF Lao PDR.
Project Sinxay is not a separate legal organisation. References to "we" and "us" on this site mean the project partners.
Privacy notice
We collect as little information as we need, use it only for Project Sinxay, and never sell it.
What we collect
- When you send a message: your name, email address, and message. Messages are stored in the programme inbox.
- When you use Apply on this site: your name, email address, and the pathway you choose (UPSHIFT, Youth Champions, or Sinxay Mentors).
- When you visit the site: basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you view, through optional Google Analytics. This does not tell us who you are.
Why we use it
- To reply to your message.
- To review applications and contact applicants about next steps.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Who sees it
Your information is seen only by the UNICEF Lao PDR team working on Project Sinxay and, where needed to run the programme, the Lao Youth Union and XM Technovator, who host the site and support delivery. They may use it only for Project Sinxay. We will not share it with anyone else unless we must do so to protect a child from harm.
How long we keep it
We keep messages for up to 12 months and application details for up to 2 years after the programme cycle ends, then delete them.
If you are under 18
Please tell a parent, guardian, or other trusted adult before you send us your details. Applications from anyone under 18 need consent from a parent or guardian.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days.
UNICEF handles personal information in line with UNICEF's policy on personal data protection.
Young people featured on this site
Everyone named or photographed on this site has agreed to appear on it. For anyone under 18, a parent or guardian has also given consent. We show only the names they have chosen to share, and never home addresses, schools as a private contact, or phone numbers.
If you appear on this site and would like your name, photo, or story changed or removed, email [email protected]. We will act on this within 10 working days, without needing a reason.

Names and logos
The UNICEF name and emblem belong to UNICEF, and the Lao Youth Union emblem belongs to the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union. They may not be used without written permission.
Using our content
Text and photos on this site belong to UNICEF or to the people who created them. You may share links to this site freely. To reuse text or photos, email [email protected] first. Photos of young people must not be reused without permission.
Accuracy
We work to keep information on this site accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee it. Figures are as reported by the programme on the date shown.

Links to other sites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for their content.
